Children who are victims of abuse must depend on the adults in their lives to pay attention to warning signs, believe them when they tell us something is wrong, and respond responsibly.
Reporting Abuse and Neglect

Mandated Reporting
Under Massachusetts law anyone who works or interacts regularly with children is mandated to report suspected abuse to the Department of Social Services.

Phone in an oral report as soon as possible to the DSS protective screening unit

File a written report with DSS within 48 hours after the oral report is given

DSS will notify the reporter, in writing of its decision to support/unsupport the report
