Sexual Assault Intervention Network (SAIN)

The goal of the SAIN program is provide comprehensive, coordinated child sexual assault investigation and follow up services.  

When sexual abuse is suspected the team is able to bring together all the necessary professionals in one child-friendly location, thereby eliminating the need for repeat interviews in scary places like police stations.

Following the interview professionals meet regularly to share information, make decisions and track the case through the system.

Team Members:

• Berkshire County District Attorney's Office
• Department of Social Services
• Berkshire County Kids' Place
• State and/or Local Police Departments
• Pediatrician
• Mental Health Professional

Berkshire County Kids' Place & Violence Prevention Center is a Children's Advocacy  Center providing services to victims of child abuse and their non-offending family members. The Kids' Place  is a Berkshire United Way agency and a full member of the National Children's Alliance.

Eligibility: Services at the Kids' Place are free and available to victims of child abuse, children who witness domestic violence and non-offending family members.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am to 7:00 pm, and Fridays, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
