1991-1993

Citizens Against Abuse Task Force created

Founders Tim Shugrue (prosecutor), Detective Joe Collias (Pittsfield) and Detective Robert Canale (North Adams) develop the Children's Advocacy Center model in Berkshire County. Robert Smith and William Hines, Sr. are co-campaign chairs.

The organization is legally incorporated as a nonprofit (501c3)

Building purchased for the advocacy center on 63 Wendell Ave in Pittsfield.

Jenny Tierney Stokes is hired as the 1st director of Kids’ Place.

1995

MDT (Multi-disciplinary team) now called SAIN formed. Child abuse investigations begin

 

Renovation by GE Elfun Program takes place at advocacy center.

1997

Full membership with National Children's Alliance (NCA) achieved

North Adams office opened (at Elizabeth Freeman Center)

2003

Kids’ Place celebrates 10th Anniversary & 10th Annual Jimmy’s Ride Event
